So, So Close but not Cigar for the Pack!

2 min read

The Green Bay Packers sadly lost on their home turf on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles, and for this game the wheels started to unravel all at that stubborn one-yard line. In the Fourth quarter the Packers managed to stop just shy of a touchdown at the 1-yard line. Not once but twice in the last quarter. Preventing a crucial touchdown that could have tied the game at 34 all or given the Packers a win with just a simple 2-point conversion.

With seconds to go one error made by Quarterback Aaron Rodgers saw the Philadelphia Eagles come away with the ball in an interception and a game win right at cusp of a Packer tying which would’ve seen the game go into an exciting and nail biting overtime matchup. This game was nothing like the last two three games where the Packer defense was dominant in key stops during games.

Along with the defences lack-lustre performance the offense was unable to finish off vital drives and come away with more points like in the previous first three games of this NFL season.

On Thursday, they converted just three of seven opportunities into touchdowns and failed on two series in the fourth quarter, including the final one that ended in a game-deciding interception. Rodgers on the other hand did have an overall good game completing 34 of 53 passes for 422 yards and completing two touchdown drives.

It’s clear RedZone completions were low in this game and when going back to the drawing board the Packers have some adjustment and changes to make in order to leave all RedZone opportunities with touchdowns. The Packers lost with a final score of 34 to 27.

Next week the Packers head to Dallas to face another playoff contender for the playoffs the Dallas Cowboys. Let’s see how a week of reflection goes for the Pack.
