Packers Two Weeks in and Seem to be Shining!
2 min readHeading into week 3 of the NFL the Green Bay Packers along with Matt LeFleur should be in good spirits given their extremely favourable schedule with the next 4 weeks.
They came away with a win over the weekend over the Minnesota Vikings and had a bit of second half scare when the Vikings fought back from a three-touchdown deficit. Green Bay managed to smash it in only the first quarter with a whopping three scoring drives and the Vikings not even managing field goal.
The Vikings offence quickly managed to turn that around and came back with an almost cracking tie however with a few turnovers and a mind-blowing interception smack dab in the red zone the dreams for the purple simply went away.
Running back Adam Jones to put it lightly had the best day next to QB Aaron Rodgers of course. 23 carries for a total of 116 yards as well as a touchdown would make any player or coach happy. FedEx even named him the “ground player of the week”.
Wide Receiver Davante Adams is a very close second with a total of seven receptions on nine targets for a full 106 yards. The Packers offence after the first week looked a bit iffy but it seems the kinks have been worked out and the team is well and truly on its way.
The Packers finished their Sunday showdown with a final score of 21 to 16. Now the Packers prepare for another Sunday game against the Denver Broncos, but at Lambeau Field again.
Their next two games as well as week 6’s game will all be played at Lambeau Field which should give LeFleur and the team comfort. After the Broncos they will face the Philadelphia Eagles which should be their toughest match yet of the 100thseason of the NFL.
Let’s wait and see what else this explosive offence can do.
